My life in India
It is very strange but i have never think that one day I will go to India.
As I work in international call center, it was like exchange between countires for some time.
The first day was really difficult for me, because i was shocked: you will find the Indian roads very dirty with a lot of dust, besides, that there are many beggars outside, which will disturb you a lot. When the first day was over i began thinking about foreigners, which live in India for a long time. BUT it was my big mistake, because i found many beautiful and interesting places here to see and adore, besides of that always you will find fresh fruits and vegetables outside with the best price. For us,foreigners, it is really great to stay here, especially, for pure vegetarian people.
People of this country very kind and sweet, indian women are like a sunflower. Almost they are house vifes and they taking care of their families the best.. They are very hard working people. To understand this you have to live for a moment in their join family. Indian women will rise early in the morning, make breakfast for whole the family, after they will wash the cloth and clean the house. After when everybody will complete their breakfast they will clean the utensiles and will have rest for a moment. Very soon you will find them in the kitchen again in making lunch. So, in generally, indian women prepair the dish three times in a day. Besides that she will offer water and tea to everybody who will visit her house.
Indian men also do a lot of work, especially thay take the whole responsability of their families and relatives.
To stay in India in summer time is very difficult, because you will find the weather very hot, especially, for us foreigners who didn't get in used to stay outside when the temperature 45 above ziro. It is realy hard to imagine indian houses without air conditions, but still you will find many here.
When my trip became to the end I was regret that i didn't have a lot of time to see the whole country, but Ii hope next year I will back here again.
My First Journey
For some people there is nothing as exciting as traveling, and I'm not an exception. And I'm happy that I have traveled a lot and I hope that my first journey wasn't the last one.
First I bought a ticket for plane. Many people think, that nothing can be compared with traveling by air, because it is the most comfortable, and, of course, the quickest way of moving. There is none of the dust and dirt of a railway or car journey, none of the trouble of changing from train of another to streamer and then to another train. But booking tickets in summer is a problem. The air-fare is quite expensive and not all people can afford it.
Then I continued my way by the train. This kind of transport has also many advantages. With a train you have a comfort and speed combined. From a comfortable corner seat of a railway carriage you have a splendid view of a countryside. If you are hungry you can have a meal in the dinning-car and if the journey is long one can have a bed in a sleeper.
But I believe that there is no travel so fine as by ship. It's wonderful to feel the deck of the ship under the feet, to see the rise and fall of the waves, to feel the fresh sea wind blowing in the face, hear the cry of the sea-gulls. Of course, the voyage isn't exciting for those who are sea-sick when the sea is a little bit rough.
Many people say: "Give me a walking tour any time". And it is not surprising. The walker leaves the dull, broad highway and goes along little winding lanes where cars can't go. He takes mountain paths through the heather, he wonders by the side of quiet lakes and through the shades of woods.
He sees the real country, the wild flowers, the young birds in their nests, the deer in the forest, he feels the quietness and calm of nature. And besides, you are saving a lot of money by traveling on foot. No one can deny that walking is the cheapest method of traveling.
Money
Money doesn't buy happiness but it helps.
Money has become one of the main things in our modern life. Some people live their lives to earn money. They work hard, trying to earn as much money as they can. Some of them become crazy about it and lose their dignity hunting money. They don't appreciate such important things as family, friendship, love and other feelings. Such people become greedy, they spend their lives in loneliness.
I don't deny that money influences our life a lot. As W.S. Maugham said " Money is like the sixth feeling without which you cannot make a complete use of the other five." I quite agree. A person can't be happy if he has no money to satisfy his natural needs. But I think that money should have a limit. A person shouldn't have too much money. It begins destroying him and becomes his curse.
It is said in the Bible that "The love of money is the root of all evil." Yes, big sums of money really bring different problems because people feel very envious and jealous of other's fortune. The majority of all the crimes are made because of money.
I'm among the people who consider that money is not all-powerful. Humanity, dignity, intelligence, kindness and other good qualities of a person can't be bought for money. We'll never be able to buy pure love, real friendship and loving and caring family. But life isn't worth living without these things. It's not worth living if money has become the point of it either.
Means of Communication
People use various means of communication to get from one place to another. In the old days people had to travel several days, weeks and months to get to the place they needed. They either went on foot, by coaches driven by horses or on horseback or by. boats and ships. Then trams, cars, buses, planes, underground and other means appeared.
Many people like to travel by air as it is the fastest way of traveling. A lot of people like to travel by train because they can look at passing villages, forests and fields through windows. Some people like to travel by car. There they can go as slowly or as fast as they like. They can stop when and where they want.
People who live in big cities use various means of communication to get from one place to another. Londoners use the underground railway. They call it "the tube". London's underground is the oldest in the world. It was opened in 1863. There was one route at that time, four miles long. Now London's underground has 277 stations and it is 244 miles long. Londoners use buses. The first bus route was opened in London in 1904 Today there are hundreds of routes there. The interesting thing is that some of the routes are the same as many years ago.
London's buses are double-decked buses. Londoners do not use trams, though London was the first city where trams appeared. And now it is one of the biggest cities in the world where there are no trams. The last tram left the streets of London many years ago. Londoners use cars. One can see a lot of cars in London streets. When Londoners leave the town, they use trains, ships or planes.
Meals and Cooking
When we cook, we boil, roast, fry or stew our food. We boil eggs, meat, chicken, fish, milk, water and vegetables. We fry eggs, fish and vegetables. We stew fish, meat, vegetables or fruit. We roast meat or chicken. We put salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar and mustard into our food to make it salted, sweet, sour or simply tasty. Our food may taste good or bad or it may be tasteless.
The usual meals in England are breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner or, in simpler houses, breakfast, dinner, tea and supper.
For breakfast English people mostly have porridge or corn-flakes with milk or cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, marmalade with buttered toast and tea or coffee. For a change they can have a boiled egg, cold ham, or fish.
English people generally have lunch about one o'clock. At lunch time in a London restaurant one usually finds a mutton chop, or steak and chips, or cold meat or fish with potatoes and salad, then a pudding or fruit to follow.
Afternoon tea can hardly be called a meal. It is a substantial meal only in well-to-do families. It is between five and six o'clock. It is rather a sociable sort of thing, as friends often come in then for a chat while they have their cup of tea, cake or biscuit.
In some houses dinner is the biggest meal of the day. But in great many English homes, the midday meal is the chief one of the day, and in the evening there is usually a much simpler supper — an omelette, or sausages, sometimes bacon and eggs and sometimes just bread and cheese, a cup of coffee or cocoa and fruit.

Leisure time and hobby
Many men, many minds. All people are different and they prefer spending their free time in different ways. Some of them go the parks, forests, to the country and enjoy the beauty of nature. Others like to stay at home watching TV or reading books. There are people who are fond of cinema and theatres, so they try to go there as often as possible. As for me, I prefer to spend my free time in different ways. I like to go in for sports, to play football, basketball or volleyball with my friends. I like to watch TV, to listen a tape recorder and play computer games. Also I like to go for a walk in the country and enjoy the beauty of nature. And my way of spending free time is connected with my hobby. And my hobby is reading books...
I'd like to say that it's hard to imagine our life without books. Books play such a great role in the development of personality. They help as to forget our daily problems and to pretend we travel to the past, future and to many different, wonderfull places that we can"t visit in reality. I am also sure that books are our good friends and teachers. From them we get to know the life around as better, they teatch as how to tell right from wrong, to love our Motherland, to understand friendship, people's feelings. So, they teach us how to live. As for me I like to read different kinds of books:
Leisure time
Everybody sometimes has a free time. Somebody prefers only to sleep in their leisure time, but most of us prefer to do a great number of interesting things. It may be reading, various types of sport games, watching TV, listening to music and so on. If we have a few day or a week we prefer to go to the attractive places. Many people think that pupils and studients have too much leisure time, but in my opinion, they are wrong. We are very busy. Many pupils have six or seven lessons a day and go to school five or six days a week. Even during weekend we learn our lessons. And we just have no time to go somewhere. Oldest of us are working after school or institute. As for me, a large part of my free time is devoted to reading. I like to read books about another countries, another times and another worlds. Also I read books about history of our country. Besides reading I like to do physical exercises. Me and my school friends often gather after schooland play basketball, football or other active games. But my favorite hobby is travelling. Usually I travel in summer and often it is a trip to the south, to the warm sea. I think all people must have other occupations besides their basic work, because it extends the bounduries of the familiar world and teaches us something new about people and things.
How to Change Your Life
Change your routine. Remember that your reality is a result of the things you do on a daily basis, from what you eat for breakfast to where you go to work or school. If you're going to change your life's circumstances, you will have to change the things you do every single day.
Making even the smallest changes to your daily routine can help you feel less bored with life. For example, take a different route to work, eat something new for breakfast, exercise before school rather than afterward, or stop at a different coffee shop. Small changes like these may seem insignificant, but they will make your life more interesting in the long run by adding variety.
Ask yourself this question on a daily basis: Is what I am doing (or not doing) helping me get where I want to be? This applies to what you eat, whether or not you exercise, and what you spend the bulk of your day doing. If the answer is no, then make the necessary change.
Examine your life's path. Whether you are in school, working, job hunting, volunteering, or travelling, take a look at your life and decide if it aligns with your values.
What are your passions, interests, and goals? While these questions may take years to answer, you can start by asking yourself what kind of legacy you want to leave behind. This question applies not only to your career, but to your relationships as well. How would you like to be described and remembered by other people?
Determine whether or not your lifestyle is aligned with your personal values. Chances are, to some extent, your life and your values conflict. What could you be doing differently to help you reach your goals? You may want to consider changing your career path, changing your major, changing where you live, and changing the way you manage your time and money.
Improve your relationships. No matter how much money you make or how great your accomplishments are, you will not be able to enjoy your success if you don't have loved ones to share it with.
Work on the relationships you already have. Be sure to spend quality time with loved ones, and treat them with compassion and understanding. If have been neglecting or arguing with a loved one, them devote some time to reconciling the relationship. You must be willing to make compromises and even admit that you were wrong.
Make new, meaningful relationships with others. If you are feeling lonely, then you will have to stop waiting around for others to approach you. Take matters into your own hands, and get proactive. Put yourself in social situations, strike up conversations, and remember to always have a smile on your face. This is the best way to attract other people.
Hotels (upper intermediate)
It`s a well known fact that hotels nowadays play a big role. Every year more and more new hotels are opened.
Sometimes it is even difficult to decide which to choose while traveling. There are luxury hotels, which seem to be expensive, b & b hotels, where you will get only breakfasts and a place to sleep, youth hostels, where you meant to serve everything yourself and many other places to stay in. For example an apartment, a tent, a caravan and 3, 4 or 5 star hotel.
Some people enjoy staying in a hotel while others prefer other places to stay in. Sure, on the one hand there are a lot of advantages in it. To begin with, it`s convenient. You have a chance to make a telephone call and reserve any room you want in a good time, to be confident by your arrival. Besides, you don`t need to serve yourself, everything will be done by the hotel staff, I find it wonderful. More than that, I do like that in the hotel you can be offered some interesting excursions and you can be sure that they are safe because the hotel is responsible for every offer.
But on the other hand there are still some disadvantages in staying in a hotel. First of all, the service can be poor and slowly, for this reason you can be late for a business conference or a friends party, I find it extremely disappointing. Second, the food can be too salty, overcooked and etc...spoiled. It can be a serious problem for people with weak stomach. Third, the view from the window can be not so romantic as the advertisement said but more modest, it can also disappoint some people, who care about the beaty around them.
Personally I`m for staying in a hotel inspite of all disadvantages. It`s only a freak of chance, everything can happen. So before booking a hotel, you`d better learn some facts about it in the net or from your friends for sure. Last summes I stayed in a hotel in Turkey, everything was up to date, wonderful service, tasty food and friendly staff. I would be happy to wisit "Saray hotel" ne more time. By the way, Saray in Turkish means a palace and it really looks so. I have only positive impressions about that place and hotel.
If I`m not mistaken there are 4 big hotels in Petrozavodsk. They are "Masks", "Karelia", "Severnaya" and one more near the embankment, unfortunately I don`t know it`s name yet. In my opinion our town provides good hotels for foreigners and native people. You can stay there from one night only to even a month or more, if you can afford it sure.
In general I am only for staying in a hotel, this will save your money, time and will be convenient.
